Save World Hunger.

World hunger?  Do you know what world hunger means or better yet whom does it affect? Has anyone taken the time not only focusing on you? But being thankful how are healthy you are and also always having food around. Here in the United States people have privilege of walking into their kitchen whenever they please and then find stocks of food.  Well the bad news is not all people in this world have the same luxury. To be way more specific people from third world countries wake up every single day wondering if themselves or their families are going to have something to eat. This issue targets more of the poorest people in Africa. Being able to access food for these people is daily struggle and here are some reasons what cause lack of food in mainly in Africa.

According to CQ Researcher the “effect of globalization is what resulted in the neglecting domestic food crops.” Here is the accurate reason why the entire population of Africa practically starves to death. The low quality of their droughts is what causes the lower quality and quantity of crops. Another reason for the lack of nutrition in Africa is their oil resources. “Oil prices make food more unreliable to afford” and “it is very expensive to chemically provide fertilization for the crops” (Clemmitt 2008). Advertisements that go on the television persuading people to donate so it can help provide foods for families. It is scary sight to see skinny and frail people in many different age groups. Children are the ones to be more affected by this issue.

So why leave people hungry? I know the United States has really been great contributors in this controversy. The ways I knew the United States were giving a helping hand was donating food and making charity events to raise awareness. In my opinion it seems like that good deed. A good deed that was only done for a certain period of time and now I rarely hear anything about helping the needy people in Africa. And another thing I have notice broadcasting of the ad’s during the late hours of the night. Why though? I hope the reason for this is the economy status the U.S. is currently in. Just how it is stated in the Global Food Crisis article “ It is very difficult to feed 6 billion people”.  Another article called World Hunger also states there is a somewhat reliable resource for the African people is called Africare. Africare is an organization and they have a mission on benefitting the hard life over in Africa (Kennedy 718). To be more specific, Somalia is the place where people are considered to be suffering the most. This town is located on the Eastern part of Africa, are the people who completely cannot afford food expenses. This is very tragic they are forced to starve themselves.

In the World Hunger article states approximately 85 percent of the people who starve are children (Kennedy 718).  How shocking is that to know in the most important years of someone’s developing age will not receive the same nutrition as other children who do in this world. It is sad to know a lot of these peoples lifespan will be cut short because lack of resources in food.  According Worldhunger.org Malnutrition is better term for lacking nutrition in general. Times like this we should really work even harder on getting these resources for the unprivileged countries. Just remember this controversy effects everyone in this country, maybe one day it can be you. So whenever go back into your refrigerator don’t take the food for granted. Appreciate what you have, I know I do every time I eat and give thanks. If you want to make a change it all starts with you and everyone else will follow.
